Eva Vitucci

Dr. Vitucci is a postdoctoral fellow at Texas A&M University (TAMU) where she investigates the inhalation hazard and exposure risk of volatile organic compounds using a combination of analytical and in vitro approaches. She received her doctorate in Toxicology from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 2022. Her research specifically focuses on environmental monitoring of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and investigating their inhalation exposure effects using in vitro models of the human lung. These projects will improve our understanding of the pervasiveness of outdoor VOC exposure and improve our ability to assess inhalation exposure risks to VOCs. In addition to her research, Dr. Vitucci serves as a visiting instructor in the TAMU School of Public Health and is committed to advancing the field of Toxicology through mentoring trainees and through various service roles (such as serving as the postdoctoral representative for various Society of Toxicology Specialty Sections). Dr. Vitucci is a recipient of the NIEHS Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Fellowship (F31), the author/co-author of 8 publications, and the recipient of +10 SOT affiliated graduate/postdoctorate awards. She looks forward to participating in the MSDT One Health program, where she aims to develop an interdisciplinary research plan that advances our understanding of the adverse effects of air pollution through a One Health lens.
