Bio

Elisabeth (Elise) Woelbern is in her junior year at the University of Florida, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science with a minor in Statistics. She assists in the Baker WATER Lab under Dr. Tracie Baker, which focuses on the developmental and transgenerational effects of various contaminants on zebrafish. Elise is currently looking at microplastic accumulation in fish tissue. She also assists in the Urban Ecosystem Ecology Lab under Dr. AJ Reisinger, looking at urban soil and water quality in relation to contaminants of emerging concern. Outside of the lab, she works in the UF Extension Dean’s office. She is excited for the opportunity to broaden her perspective in One Health through mentorship, networking, and the variety of resources available through MSDT-One Health.
