Andrea N. Arce Rodríguez is in her Senior year at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus, majoring in Biology with a minor in Pre-Medicine. She is currently on a research team with Dr. Jorge Agudo Ruiz, where they detect fecal coliforms in waters of the west and southwest of Puerto Rico, bacterias in the air due to Sahara dust activities and identify zooplankton and microalgae. She works on-campus at the Financial Assistance Department. At the same time, she is involved in different associations such as the Student Association of Toxicology (SETox) where she is currently the treasurer, the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), etc. Being part of the MSDT One-Health program allows Andrea to expand her knowledge of toxicology in a one health perspective, build her networking, and gain educational and professional experience.
