Shakil A. Saghir

Dr. Shakil A Saghir is an Environmental Toxicologist; he holds a PhD from the University of Illinois, MSPH from the University of Alabama, and MSc and BSc from the University of Karachi. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Toxicologist, UK and European registered toxicologist, a fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences and the Royal Society of Biology. Dr. Saghir is a Fulbright Scholar and a Senior mentor for an NIH/UC Davis program. Dr. Saghir is a US-based environmental consultant. He has worked at notable places like Ohio Department of Health, Syngenta, Dow Chemical, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, and Pakistan Agricultural Research Council. Dr. Saghir also held Research Assistant Professorship at the University of Kansas and Associate Professorship at the Aga Khan University (AKU).

Currently, Dr. Saghir is a Professor at the University of Philippines at Diliman and a Visiting Professor at the AKU. Dr. Saghir has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters and over 1000 technical reports. He has given numerous invited presentations globally including at the 79^th UN General Assembly in NY. Dr. Saghir is a member of the editorial board of several leading scientific journals. Dr. Saghir often writes newspaper articles and appears in radio and television programs to discuss environmental issues, especially in developing countries.
