Dr. Ahmed Abdelmoneim is an assistant professor and clinical veterinary toxicologist at the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. His research program focuses on understanding how developmental exposure to environmental contaminants and chemicals of concern affects neuroendocrine development and ultimately increasing lifelong disease risk, and on developing New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) to better evaluate chemical hazard.
He earned his BVMS (2007) from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Assiut University (Egypt), and his M.Sc. in Ecotoxicology (2011) from the University of Poitiers (France). Dr. Abdelmoneim received his Ph.D. (2016) in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (Aquatic Toxicology) from Purdue University and subsequently completed two postdoctoral fellowships in toxicology at Cornell University. He has authored or co-authored more than twenty peer-reviewed journal articles and over one hundred conference presentations. He has served as a reviewer on multiple NIH and NSF panels and has been an active member and leader in the Society of Toxicology and the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Dr. Abdelmoneim has mentored numerous trainees who have gone on to become scientists and health professionals
