Tamar Schlekat

Tamar Schlekat is the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Global Science Director, where she supports the Society promoting environmental science and management and advances science-informed decisions making. She has been with SETAC since 2016. When she came to SETAC, Schlekat brought more than 18 years of technical experience as an environmental consultant focused on ecological and human health risk assessment and sustainability. 

Schlekat has a Master of Science in Public Health in Environmental Quality and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She also has certificates in Non-Profit Management and Sustainability Leadership. She enjoys reading, hiking, knitting and gardening. She is fluent in English and Arabic.
