Joharys A. Cubero Rodriguez is a sophomore at the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus, majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Toxicology. She is currently part of a research team led by Dr. Jorge Agudo Ruiz, where she works on detecting fecal coliforms in water sources from the west and southwest regions of Puerto Rico, as well as conducting air filtration studies to assess the pathogenicity of collected bacteria. In addition, Joharys is actively involved in the Student Association of Toxicology (SETox), where she serves as Vice President. Her involvement in the MSDT–One Health program is expected to provide opportunities for advanced learning in toxicology, meaningful professional connections, and hands-on academic and career-oriented growth
