Grecia Milan Villela

Grecia Milan Villela is a Junior at Arizona State University, Tempe Campus, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Pharmacology and Toxicology. She is a Barrett, The Honors College student. She is currently an undergraduate researcher in the Huijben Lab at the Center of Evolution and Medicine under Dr. Silvie Huijben, where she assists with maintaining mosquito populations and supporting experimental procedures in vector biology research. Her upcoming Honors Thesis will focus on insecticide resistance in Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes, with an emphasis on mechanisms of resistance and vector control implications. She also completed an internship with the Pima County Health Department, contributing to a West Nile Virus research project through R-based data analysis and work with epidemiological
datasets. She is also an active member of REACT (Refugee Education & Clinic Team), where she provides academic support and mentorship to refugee families in the Phoenix area.
