Bio

Emma Claus is an Environmental Toxicology major at the University of California, Davis, with a minor in German, currently on exchange at Humboldt University of Berlin. As a toxicology major, she thinks a lot about ecosystems and agroecology, and she has hands-on experience in both small-scale farms and laboratories. She has run mass spectrometry in the Neumann Lab and done field work through a fellowship with UC Berkeley's Agroecology Lab, where she practiced intercropping and crop rotation and helped grow and distribute crops for community food boxes. She has also presented on carbon neutrality at the Earth Youth Summit in Kyoto and organized around survivor advocacy with UC Davis's Sexual Assault Advocacy and Awareness Committee. Through MSDT One Health, Emma would love to see a local-level application of her studies and to learn different methods from researchers around the world, while building professional connections to support her future career.
