Julie Schweitzer

Julie Schweitzer, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the UC Davis MIND Institute, where she directs the Attention, Impulsivity, Regulation (AIR)/ADHD Program. Her translational research integrates cognitive neuroscience and behavioral science methods—including fMRI, DTI, eye-tracking, and clinical measures—to investigate attention and self-regulation in typical development and neurodevelopmental disorders. She also develops technology-based interventions, including virtual reality and game-based approaches, to improve attention and academic functioning. More recently, her work has expanded to examine environmental influences on autism and ADHD outcomes through collaborative research within the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program. She has received multiple NIH and other federal awards supporting research in ADHD, autism, and substance use disorders. 

Dr. Schweitzer is a leader in translational workforce development at UC Davis Health. She is Director of the Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) Mentored Clinical Research Training Program and Director of the Mentoring Academy for Research Excellence, and previously served as Co-Director of the CTSC TL1 Training Program. She has extensive experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, and junior faculty, and brings a strong team-science approach to interdisciplinary training and research.
